More Magazine, celebrating you after 40

I do have a slight smirk on my face writing this because while I'm turning 30 this year, I haven't thrown in the towel quite yet. But it's true, I did pick up More Magazine today because its February cover girl, Mariska Hargitay (her website is well done), is styled wearing a fabulous sequin Norman Ambrose cocktail dress.
Relevant to me because Ambrose is an up and coming American couturier in NYC who nabbed his first main stream magazine cover and because I have the pleasure of doing business with him every season. One of my clients is in love with his lady like creations. Personally, I think him lovely and visionary in his classic, ladylike old Hollywood inspired dressing. His made to measure business is second to none with fabrics and craftsmanship reminiscent of true couture. I'm glad to see him getting well deserved ink.
On another note, while flipping through More, I was interested in their take on life advice for ladies reevaluating their lot after life change: divorce, new career path, empty nest onset, or retirement. More does a decent job, with the help of Tim Gunn, providing tips and how-to's in creating a polished look for those celebrating themselves after 40. You can see the before and afters above of Barbara Newman who clearly is gal up for anything, but needs a sprinkle of sophistication to bring it together.
Relevant and insightful for women who aren't obsessively turning the pages of Vogue, but see the value in a well edited closet. Advice to think about below...
